This test is primarily used to diagnose diseases of the Upper GI Tract: the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Also, it detects the bacteria that generate gastritis.

It is a way of looking inside the body using an endoscope, which has a small camera and a light so that the doctor can see through it.

Other tests, such as a biopsy and polyp removal, are also done during the endoscopy.

In this procedure, the patients are sedated at all times so they do not feel discomfort.

A colonoscopy is an examination used to detect changes or abnormalities in the large intestine (colon) and rectum, in which a long, flexible tube (colonoscope) is inserted into the rectum. A small video camera at the tip of the tube allows the physician to view the inside of the entire colon. 

The patient is sedated at all times, so there is no pain or discomfort.

If there are colon polyps or other abnormal tissue that can be removed during a colonoscopy, we can also take tissue samples (biopsies). 

Anoscopy is a test in which a small tube (anoscope) is used to look at the lining of the anus and rectum. In high-resolution anoscopy, through the anoscope, a substance is applied to the walls of the rectum and in the anal canal, subsequently, a light produces fluorescence in the malignant areas caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

It is a painless test where rectal tumors and other pathologies of the anal region are diagnosed.

Rectosigmoidoscopy is a study performed with sedation, but it does not require digestive emptying. It usually lasts from 5 to 10 minutes and it allows the inspection of the inner wall up to the first 50 cm of the large intestine, which is the area where cancerous lesions are commonly found.

The doctor removes a small amount of tissue to examine in a microscope.

Other tests can indicate the presence of cancer, but only a biopsy can make a precise diagnosis.
